The Hawley family were one of the earliest Yorkshire potters,owning several potteries from the mid 18th Century to the early 20th Century. The NZ decendants of the family have been in the tableware business since 1947 under Andrew Hawley Ltd, started by the late Andrew Hawley in 1947, after returning from NZ Army War service in Italy and Egypt.
